  October 14, 2023 - Sammamish Port Club - 1970's Ports (Seattle, Washington): Dark purple color with purple on the edges. Eucalyptus, mint, and chocolate notes on the nose. Noticeable acidity on the palate. Ripe dark fruit, jammy and lush. Nice balanced tannins on the mid-palate. Tanins roll through to the very long, rich finish.

  September 25, 2023 - 6 hr decant. An excellent young port showing far better (harmonious, balanced, delicious ) than I expected. Still has a lot of throttle — after a day in the decanter we had the remainder and it had barely budged - except to get even richer. Saving my other 3 bottles for the far future where this is likely to be stunning. Already fabulous but please hold.
  Score: 94 and on the slow boat to a lot higher.

  September 15, 2023 - Really an excellent benchmark and showing extremely well now. Chocolate and dark cherry to black currant right up front, with some truly lovely notes of coffee, slight hints of menthol (maybe eucalyptus--I think this is the same thing that others have described as spice. Whatever it is, it's subtle) and something floral like lilac or lavender. The wine is mellow now but still rich and full without being syrupy. Really epic.

  May 1, 2023 - This was the best glass of Port I've ever experienced. I've finished cases of 1994 Graham and Dow, which were good but didn't hold a candle to this Taylor's complexity, punch, and length. Does it merit a perfect score? If it's the best obtainable Port made in my 50+ year lifetime, then I'll grant one on this occasion. Loved it and will keep hunting more bottles, which are an insane value for <$200 each.

  January 15, 2023 - Deep, dark, inky purple/garnet in color with no signs of aging. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & dried figs with overtones of spices, floral & smoky notes, earthy/dusty notes, coffee/cocoa, sandalwood, pepper & hints of tobacco & cedar in the background. Full bodied with an excellent concentration of well balanced & silky smooth textured, dense, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries & dried figs with exotic spices, pepper, minerals, herbs & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but even at 29 years of age, it still can continue developing further with additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (98+). Cork was stained on bottom 1/4 & cracked upon opening. A wonderful Port with lots of potential ahead.
