February 19, 2014 - A surprisingly great Malbec. This has aged very nicely, so much smoother and more structured than the other we had a couple years ago. Great value.

November 1, 2013 - Richer and deeper than my last tasting - distinctive forest floor and musk nose make my prior rating too conservative. Not a big Malbec fan but this is pretty amazing...

April 27, 2013 - Round blend of plum, baking spices, and sweet tannins. A crowd-pleaser but too light to get a blockbuster score. Drink now.

December 28, 2012 - I can't rate this wine as I'm not a huge Malbec fan to begin with. Only comments from the three other drinkers were that we couldn't even use it for cooking mushrooms. Definitely not a fan. Maybe too old?

May 16, 2012 - Initially tasted a burnt bitterness that didn't fit with the nose, as it opened up it seemed to go away, as it was paired with a grilled flank steak with a salsa verdi. Very nice wine, once it opened up, there was some sediment. med rich fruit flavors. Light acidity. Rich purple teeth staining. Low tannins.

October 4, 2011 - Purple in color, nose has oak with some toast, some forest floor and slight violet, lavender, and incense. Fairly deep in color, almost glass coating. Medium acidity, enough to keep it focused, good fruitiness with a deep layer of plum and an additional layer of blackberry, and a light, smooth tannic finish with slight pepper. Medium length, with a slightly bitter finish, hopefully some additional time will round it out somewhat and cut out some of those brash edges while keeping the complexity and the strong dark fruit undercurrent.

July 18, 2011 - RUSSK Day 3. There is a burnt barrel bitterness that has always been there that I am noticing more. Lisa too. No need to buy again.
