June 29, 2019 - Was perfect with a Poullet Vin Jeune with morilles, decanted 30 min before serving, the wine improved a lot!

May 26, 2019 - Delicate sauvignon notes rounded by the semillon. Sufficient freshness and acids, beautiful nose and a pleasing bitter.

May 5, 2019 - Slightly oxidised. Beautiful aroma's of honeysuckle, orange zest, apricot but somewhat disturbed by the oxidation. Unfortunately Carbonnieux Blanc often has a high percentage of bottles with early oxidation. The rest of my bottles have all different colours ranging from greenish-yellow to gold; the gold ones more oxidised. Taste is nice with slight rounded acidity balanced by some fruit and integrated bitterness. Indeed, as others write it is difficult to 'detect' the Sauvignon Blanc influence, the Semillon seems to have the upper hand in this one. Because of the oxidation risk I would say drink ASAP!

April 20, 2019 - My TN are in the line of all TN's below ...

Started tasting at 12°C, but it needed some more chilling to fully enjoy.
Quite fatty wine, strangely I get more Semilion than Sauvignon Blanc.
Bit faint on the nose, especially more chilled.
In mouth, I got some wax, caramel, salt toffee, lots of lime zeste, high on minerals.
But overall, I certainly get the oxidation ... one would think the wine if off, however it opens up with time.

Not sure if I could buy again or order in restaurant ... at these prices, I prefer Les Hauts de Smith Blanc.

March 10, 2019 - FINALLY! Third bottle I’ve tried and this one wasn’t prem ox’d
Semillon really stands out. Waxy apple, a hint of sweetened lime and a touch of smoke.
Lovely minerality and acidity to this wine and a nice depth of flavour with decent length.
If not prem ox’d it will go on a good while

(Château Carbonnieux Blanc) Light yellow color; white jasmine, ripe peach, tart pear nose; tasty, rich, ripe pear, white jasmine palate with integrating oak; medium-plus finish

(Chateau Carbonnieux Blanc (Pessac-Léognan)) Rather a lemon curd richness on the nose here, the aromas tinged with herb in a very fresh style. The palate does not let up, showing a very rich character, the texture broad and fleshy, the wine possessing an attractive acid streak at the core, but it struggles to lift this wine to a point where it has the sort of zip and definition I am really looking for. It is rather attractive, but clearly indicates a richer vintage. A big, grapefruity finish, yet without the acid bite that usually comes with this fruit.
