February 2, 2020 - Still a lot of pleasant ripe fruit in this wine. Currant with leather on the finish. Rich texture. Not very complex and missing structure, it almost comes out as sweet. Still, I enjoy the fruit it still has. Not sure if this will pick up more mature flavors as it ages, it hasn't really yet.
July 30, 2019 - Want to give thanks to Merus for this bottle. When I informed them that the delivery driver neglected to reach out to the person accepting delivery of their premier wine, and the wine went back to shipping warehouse with possible heat damage, they sent me this as a token of their regret, free of charge. I consumed this several years ago, and remember it was a good second wine, very well balanced, not quite as fruity as their premier bottles, but very nice and well work the price, and will take at least 5 years of age, possible more. Recommended.

September 10, 2017 - Was ready to drink, bright ripe plums notes. Vanil nicely woven with toasty oak notes. Solid acid handle NY Strip with ease.
August 1, 2017 - Dark rich stewed fruit with plum, cassis and berry
May 20, 2017 - dark and smokey with deep almost stewed fruit of cassis, plum and prune
November 22, 2016 - This bottle had a bit of Brett that masked some of the flavor. Drinkable though.
October 14, 2016 - My last bottle of this superb Rutherford Cabernet. Truly outstanding in every way, over the years and at the moment.
October 12, 2016 - Superb in every way.
July 18, 2016 - This is a great wine for $60.
