October 21, 2018 - Last bottle, oxidized and down the sink. Looks like I was about 1 year too late for these. Was very enjoyable while in its prime!

September 8, 2018 - Audozed cork in for ~ 2 hours then poured 2 glasses and a third into a small decanter. Nose was open for business by that time- chocolate, red cherries, kir, menthol and some aged notes of prunes and baked plum cobbler. The later glasses start to develop a plum preserves note that comes with more air exposure. The aged notes carry over to the palate along with the cherries and menthol, but unfortunately I am also picking up caramel and some oxidative hints on the finish. Makes sense as I am not getting much in the way of brightness or acidity, with the majority of the structure due to the still bitter, woodsy tannins. Second to last bottle and the entire last glass was filled with sediment; going to get to that last bottle sooner rather than later and let it sit upright for at least a day before serving. Definitely in the decline but drinking well enough; Overall Evaluation: B+ (86).

March 17, 2017 - After an hour decant, this wine opened with wonderful nose of dark fruit, leather and earth. The color was slightly orange at the rim but the typical earthy Barbaresco structure came through beautifully.

December 25, 2014 - Selected for Christmas dinner 2014 but unfortunately the bottle had oxidized despite any obvious flaws in the cork. Pulled a 2nd bottle which thankfully had no issues. Decanted to remove sediment and poured first glass about 30 minutes later. Spiced red plums, anise, and just slightly sour blackberries with nice black pepper, bittersweet chocolate, and tarry notes on the finish. Tannins are nicely integrated and in much better harmony with the acidity, which retains some brightness despite the 10 years and fading of the rich, primary fruit. I hereby declare this wine fully in it's drinking window!

I lost a bottle, which sucks, but at only $35 it doesn't sting as much as a $50+ bottle. The value is still there for me.

    Overall: A.

September 2, 2012 - Splash decanted. Bottle was still very tannic, should have let decant longer as the wine didn't start to really open until that last glass about an hour later. Really great blackberry and black cherry aromas and flavors backed by mocha and anise. Encouraging potential, looks like it still has plenty of time left.
