April 12, 2024 - Like the 08, very fresh and acidic, with sappy fruit and perhaps a more floral nose. The fruit is a blend of red cherry and redcurrant, very appealing but at this stage, just lacking a little charm compared to the 08.

November 4, 2023 - There's a hint of brett, but otherwise good freshness and ripeness to the bright purple fruit. The tannins provide a lot of earthy grip, but structurally the tannins are bit out in front of the fruit, and I wonder if this has the concentration for further aging.

October 28, 2023 - Simply beautiful nose of earth, red berries, gentle bell pepper and crushed stone. Similar flavors on the medium weight palate. The fruit is ripe, juicy but no exaggeration to its ripeness. Bright acid throughout giving energy and lift. Young vines limit the depth of the fruit but there is airy complexity and the length is good if not extraordinary. Balanced. As advertised, this is very Burgundian in style. Lovely expression of CF in a lighter weight expressive style. Enjoyable now but will keep. Bought on release.

October 14, 2023 - Beautiful balance between red raspberry fruit, dusty stone and green herbs. Still quite tannic, but at a nice spot with minimal air. Will clearly go the distance.

May 9, 2023 - Bought this ten years ago and wish I bought more. Big and dark, earthy/soil/dirt, minerals, blackberries, black currants, dried herbs, olives. We really enjoyed this, my franc loving buddy said it was the best wine he's had in awhile.

January 28, 2023 - Consumed over three days. Very good cabernet with an edgier, more serious and complex character than the Amirault Grand Clos recently opened, while also less easy to drink and immediately appealing. Almost dumb on opening but continued developing through the last glass. With another half-dozen in reserve, I'd like to wait about two more years to open another - though I doubt I'll make it past one year.

December 14, 2022 - No perceptible change from a couple years ago. Juicy and fruity. Nice mix of red berry fruit and green bell peppers and tobacco. Luscious.

August 13, 2022 - Nice tasty chinon: earth, tobacco and some berries. Little watery when opened but gains taste and weight with long decant. Good pairing with filet mignon.

January 12, 2022 - Light purple with a clear aging brown to the rim. The nose is first dominated by sweet cherry/raspberry fruit. After a while minerals - crushed stone, gun powder and chalk - emerge, making it a quite complex aroma. Medium bodied attack, almost pinot-like fruit reminiscent of red berries in the mouth. Then the tannins and the acidity kicks in, leaving a somewhat drying feel on the finish. Still, the red berry fruit is what dominates the aftertaste. High acidity, very fresh. Long. This is really a wine for food, try roasted chicken. Will keep for many years and probably evolve positively over at least the next five years.
