February 18, 2024 - One last round at Jade Court (Chicago, IL): Very impressive -- I've never really been much of a fan of Dönnhoff's GGs (though I am very much a Dönnhoff superfan) -- and I've always thought that it was such a shame that the Dellchen grapes became this rather than the absolutely stunning Spätlese that they used to make. Anyway, this bottle of GG was very much in the zone -- dialled in with fruit, minerality, acidity, and all that. A bit on the lighter side with an airy disposition but plenty dense on the palate as well.

May 17, 2023 - So my TNs on this wine have been all over the place. I drank this one over two nights. The first night was a really good dry wine with medium acidity, medium body and good stone fruit - apricot and peach. The second night it was almost like a Pradikatswein. I'm not sure how that happened. Still good but not what I was expecting.

December 14, 2022 - This has either improved a lot or I was in a better mood. I had this over 3 nights (Coravin'd). The first night was a little mushy, but the second and third night things tightened up and it was a lovely dry Riesling, in its prime. A big mouthfeel with a mid-palette which stone and apple. Great acidity and a long finish. Really nice wine and many years to go.

September 9, 2021 - Fully mature with ripe, honeyed fruit and a little bit of petrol. Plenty of acidity to keep it lively and well-balanced.

November 23, 2020 - I was a tad disappointed. This was a good well made GG, but it was jus not exciting. Very well made, integrated, good acidity, good sized mouth -feel. Medium finish. Grapefruit and lemon. I will try another bottle and see how I feel after that.

June 17, 2020 - Complex and deep - herbal notes, oily mouthfeel and good length - brilliant GG which needs some air in the decanter to develop its potential. Nice tropical fruits - but well integrated.

February 20, 2020 - GG Riesling Night (S.K.Y. restaurant, Pilsen, Chicago IL): Nose: There is lovely depth and poise to the nose with peaches, red apples, limes, quince, pears, jasmine, custard, and some saline. There is more of a nuanced take but with great balance and complexity that is intoxicating.

Taste: the feel is Medium bodied with crisp, high acidity. The nuance from the nose carries through along with peaches, red apples, quince, pears, jasmine, custard, and saline.

Overall: This is lovely and drinking beautifully. There is excellent balance with this showing towards the beginning of a more mature stage.
