January 14, 2024 - Black currant, leather, cocoa, some blackberry and dark chocolate. Nice Merlot-dominated entry-level Bordeaux. Very good value for money.

July 14, 2023 - Still very tasty, although the fruit is starting to fade slightly - just an excellent value midweek wine - a decent CB for the price of a Bordeaux Supérieur.

October 30, 2022 - P/Pw/1 hr glass time. Clean, deep ruby/purple, no sign of bricking. For a value Bordeaux, it showed above it's price point. Med body, nicely integrated with balance and a short finish. Classic Bordeaux flavor, dark fruit, dust and not over the top. Good drinking window, nothing off. $21 when released.

July 10, 2020 - Very good nose and taste, wish it had more retro nasal essence.

November 19, 2018 - Just a taste of this. A nice sense of tobacco and leather in the background, but the overall palate was weak, thin and not very interesting.

March 13, 2018 - For the price paid, a mere 7 euros, this is fine, but it doesn't really compare to the better CBs in 2010. High-pitched, high octane fruit, mainly raspberry and cherry, leaning towards kirsch both on the nose and in the mouth, with a lack of body and depth which lets it down, but made in a clean, modern, seamless style which most seem to like. It's perfectly OK and enjoyable, but there are much better wines elsewhere.

May 25, 2016 - Day 1: 1/3 bottle poured into decanter. Bottle recorked and returned to cooler at 58F.
Subdued nose, and distinct lack of character on opening. Followed over 2 hours with little change.

Day 2: 1/3 bottle poured into decanter. Bottle recorked and returned to cooler.
Followed over 2 hours with noticeable progression in the last half hour.
Showed a classic Bordeaux backbone but never fully opened up.

Day 3: Last 1/3 bottle decanted. Large quantity of sediment in bottle.
Progression was just like day 2. Finished within 2 hours.
Subdued notes of cherries, tobacco and iron. Medium acidity. Smooth but strong tannins. Not tart, not bitter. Short finish.

    Conclusion: needs more time.

April 22, 2016 - Not a simple or beginning wine. There are some complex flavors, but well worth the adventure. Spice and deep earth notes. Packs a punch.

February 10, 2016 - Aromas of eucalyptus and raspberry and flavors of stone fruit, slate and pencil lead on the palette upon opening that evolve into brooding tar and loamy undertones. A solid value from a great vintage.

    December 4, 2015 - Needs air.
Enjoyed the second day more than the first.
