September 11, 2018 - Yes I am scoring this high as it is fabulous. Pure fruit is now starting to give way to some secondary flavours and this is creating a lovely slight sourness in the wine. Otherwise still has fabulous fresh green apple notes and its just a perfect aperitif wine. We had this first, then the same producer's spatlese (2009) and a Grunhouser Auslese (#24 2015) and this stood out for its style as particularly delicious.

September 19, 2016 - In the nose a bit shy. Green Apple. On the palate young With a vibrant accidity. Very lovely balance! You do not want to spit! Lovely typical Saar!

August 12, 2012 - Potent 2010 grapefruit acid washes away the thick, sun-drenched Piesporter parcel, that has a thick, viscous character and powerful aroma of saline yet clean minerality. Great stuff. Almost like a Spatlese attack of RS, orchard and golden raisin midpalate, then a huge, powerful wave of fruity, pineapple acid. I'm really not certain about this, but I can't help but wonder if this is best drunk on the fruit sooner than later. Delicious and at this point the minerality on the palate almost reminds me at times of chlorinated pools in summer--in a pleasant way, as strange as that may seem.
