January 29, 2019 - Cellaraid Discovery Box; 5/19/2017-5/26/2021 (Delivered to Home): Mainly marl soil on the nose, with some red cherries. Fairly light bodied, but a burst of raspberries and forest floor, whilst getting some pepper meat stew, and a bit of varnish, towards the end. Lasts quite long, and pretty enjoyable

December 31, 2011 - Spicy red cherries n berries. Extremely wondeful display of rounded fruits and berries with silky tannins. Spice n flowers. V pristine fruits. Beautiful aromatic nose. Meant to be drunk silky styled. Some spicy minerals pops up

December 7, 2011 - Burgundy 1er Cru Night (Jade Palace, Forum Galleria): Did not quite know what to make out of it. There was quality, it was quite impressive, but just not quite in a style that I can appreciate at the moment. This was another wine that was clearly a child of the 2009 vintage, with sweet, candied cherries, jammy berries and a flowery whiff - very ripe, rather modern. The palate was extremely plush, very silky, with lots of ripe red cherry flavours balanced with high acidity. Good depth and purity here, but it was all fruit all the way into the finish, where bits of earth and spice showed up. Super primary, a bit simple now, this needs a lot more time before really showing its colours.

May 18, 2011 - Burgundy 2011 Day 3: Visit to Maison Albert Ponnelle (Beaune, Burgundy): From a biodynamically farmed plot high up on the Bressandes vineyard- this was really good. It had a really nice nose, with expressive aromas of cherries and red berries, some bramble and toast, lots of flowers and than earth and gamey meat sprinkled with a dose of cinnamon and clove spice. Complex and really interesting. The palate was brilliantly drinkable. Round and full with a velvety texture lent to it by fine tannins and fresh, integrated acidity, the wine showed wonderful pure flavours red-fruited flavours of strawberries and raspberries all in a harmonious whole. While it was not the most powerful or richest of wines, there was a lovely finesse to it, especially towards the classy finish, where there was a beautifully perfumy linger of violet flowers, spice and some iron-like mineral. Delicious stuff. It will be very interesting to see how this ages over the next decade or so. By far the best wine in the line-up.

May 18, 2011 - Red ripe fruit on the nose. The palate is more outstanding. Body is complex, velvety and fine tannins, balanced acidity with the fresh red fruits and some violets. Finishes gently, clear and fresh. The more u drink the more attractive this is. The nose also evolves a lot. However it lacks structure and depth.
