  March 28, 2012 - Clear, medium lemon, with a nose nose of medium-plus intensity that shows chalky minerals, star fruit and lemon zest. Mouth watering high acidity and a medium body carry the aroma profile on the palate along with nectarines. This is a refreshing NZ white with a pleasant medium finish.

  January 8, 2012 - I drank this wine over two days. the wine has a lovely straw color and a light to medium body. On day one, the nose gave off celery and sugary caramel. I was quite surprised! The acidity is spot on and the wine paired well with a Malaysian red curry seafood dish. Tonight the wine's nose is more true to the grape and shows stone fruit, toasty oats, and some blueberry skins. The wine covers the mouth and the acid and slight sweetness play with the tongue. I've had the Man o' War Sauvignon Blanc before. The Spencer family, whom I believe are one of New Zealand's wealthiest, are doing great things on Ponui Island.

  May 31, 2011 - Plays nicely right on the boundary between dry stonineness and ripe fruit, and has enough complexity that it can change over time in your glass to showcase both styles. Good weight and texture with aromas and flavors of nectarine and ginger spice.
