February 20, 2022 - Slow ox for two hours. I was prepared for this to be overdone and overoaked like many Spanish wines from this era but it wasnt. Remarkably youthful at 18 years old. This had a very good nose of plums, violets and herbs. The palate is full bodied, concentrated with pods of black fruits, mocha, olives and herbs coming through. It finishes a bit short however. This has a long life ahead of it but is pretty good now.

February 1, 2020 - There's delicious raspberry fruit trimmed with cinnamon spice. It shows outstanding freshness and is a full, velvety wine of great volume and presence. Acidity is relatively low, tannins silky and length seriously good. Yummo.

June 30, 2014 - What a difference! Tried the last bottle 3 years ago - a good 89. Now: nose of ripe blackberries and plums, dark chocolate. on the palate full bodied with soft but well structured tannins. long impressing finish. outstanding. wish i had more.

May 12, 2012 - A personal favorite. Full bodied, dark cherry colour. Aromas of chocolate, blackberries, cassis, herbs and spices. The palate showcases ripe black fruits, oak, plums, pepper and a hint of earthiness.
Seemed and bit more restrained than previous bottles of this same vintages. Tannins are still a bit agressive. Will last a decade and keep improving. -

January 14, 2012 - I have no idea how this wine will age but now it is dominated by sweet american oak notes of coconut. Super ripe with ample fruit it also has a medicinal band aid aroma within the limits of acceptability. With airing some notes of coffee, cocoa and chocolate emerge. Palate is full with firm tannins, good acidity, and goes down very easily without being heavy. On the other hand this blockbuster style with so heavy use of oak is not exactly my cup of tea...but no complaints either!
