April 4, 2023 - Dark, somewhat dull color. Old cellar notes upon opening, but comes together with air. Nice aged Pomerol, simple and perhaps past best, but very nice with flank steak.

May 8, 2022 - Superb in a magnum. Earth, leather, some cedar, hint of red fruit. Peaking now in this format.

July 17, 2021 - This was a good wine, albeit not spectacular. Notes of cherry, currant, flowers, tobacco, herbs, spice and lots of earth. Fully mature. Best with our dry-aged rib eye leftovers (from last night). Good with our herbal rack of lamb - but better with the beef, which brought out the fruit and caused the herbs and earth to recede.

The wine had too much cabernet franc for my spouse, although my mother-in-law liked it.

    Drink now.

July 7, 2021 - Popped and tasted - don't think it needs a decant. Concentrated and beautifully integrated with fruit still intact. Lovely aromas, on the palate and finish. A little sediment thrown but nothing to care about.

January 16, 2021 - A decent Pomerol, slight peppery taste but smooth.

(CHATEAU MONTVIEL) #1; VaynerHICCUP & VaynerBURP; COLOR-fantastic; NOSE-classic Bordeaux nose: soiled, rich, candied cherry flavor, like old barn on fire, flowers; TASTE-just delicious, great richness, tons of complexity, massive tannins, but blackberry candy all the way through the finish, firm grip to last 15-25 years, hints of tar & dark, dark chocolate on the finish; WS-91; GV-??, <HYSTERICAL WLTV MOMENT: Gary says, "I might hiccup...(Actual Hiccup)...I KNEW it!!!....I was gonna hiccup...that was AWESOME!!! (chuckle, chuckle)...this is GREAT!!!! (actual burp)...and the burp...Friday is the BEST!!! (chuckle)...I hope you're laughing with me right now. (chuckle, chuckle)".> GEORGI RULES NEWPORT & is very Pretty!!!!!
