June 28, 2019 - Cool menthol. Dark fruit. Smooth.

March 13, 2019 - In Chicago, haven't had this in a few years (2015), time to revisit. Over 2 nights, coravin'd

From prior notes: "Light translucent garnet color - some thinning and orange at the rim. Nose of red fruits, tobacco. Nice Pomerol signature, mature red fruits, stewed plums, cranberry, earth, mushrooms, floral notes. Medium finish, tannins sweetened and fine."

Largely consistent, took some time to open, did better as it warmed (was in a wine fridge), did better on 2nd day, may have been the cooler temp. Either way, this is still drinking nicely but not likely to improve much. Great QPR for what I paid ~$40

February 24, 2019 - A little thin, compared to the Fidelitas Merlot from the prior evening this did not have the same smooth richness.

December 23, 2018 - Drank at a Christmas celebration. Decanted for 1.5 hrs. Really opened nicely. Crowd pleaser.

December 9, 2018 - From magnum. Popped and poured. Ripe, red fruit, cedar, very slight bottle bouquet, integrated tannins. Drink now.

(CHATEAU MONTVIEL) #1; VaynerHICCUP & VaynerBURP; COLOR-fantastic; NOSE-classic Bordeaux nose: soiled, rich, candied cherry flavor, like old barn on fire, flowers; TASTE-just delicious, great richness, tons of complexity, massive tannins, but blackberry candy all the way through the finish, firm grip to last 15-25 years, hints of tar & dark, dark chocolate on the finish; WS-91; GV-??, <HYSTERICAL WLTV MOMENT: Gary says, "I might hiccup...(Actual Hiccup)...I KNEW it!!!....I was gonna hiccup...that was AWESOME!!! (chuckle, chuckle)...this is GREAT!!!! (actual burp)...and the burp...Friday is the BEST!!! (chuckle)...I hope you're laughing with me right now. (chuckle, chuckle)".> GEORGI RULES NEWPORT & is very Pretty!!!!!
