Community Tasting Notes 23

August 19, 2023 - Like two years ago, this wine is light golden with a clear green tinge. Elegant and harmonious, it speaks with a low voice go give ample pleasure to those who attend. More subtle and filigree than two years ago, and up even to the level of a Mosbacher. I have since deflated my scores (for many reasons), so this is a better score than for the previous bottle and thus 'outstanding.'

August 18, 2023 - Ripe, floral and elegant Riesling aromas with peaches, honey etc. Delicious mouth feeling and surprisingly elegant for this producer.

April 24, 2023 - Last of my bottles and in a great place. Ripe fruit and florality augmented by burnished smoky and lightly honeyed notes, with a firm mineral base beneath. It still has the size and scale it showed several years ago, but now conveys those with a sense of finesse and restraint. Lovely wine.

June 13, 2021 - Light golden with a clear green tinge. Elegant and harmonious, lace-like, but not as filigree or subtle as Mosbacher's Freundstück from 2009 or 2010. More like their Pechstein, but not quite up to the same elegance. Still, this is criticism at a high level. This is truly a very fine wine at its best age.

April 2, 2021 - This was rich, with lots of peach, pineapple and lemon zest on the front end, transitioning to honeycomb, floral notes, and minerality. Nice secondary flavor development here. Really nice balance between the acid and sweetness of the wine. Seemed to be in a real nice drinking window. Probably my favorite white wine of our most recent beach trip.
