August 18, 2014 - Deep brick red with an orange/brown hue. Classic nose with a lot of tar and some fruit. High acid and a bit of rubber on this finish keep this from being anything special. Ok but disappointing. (85)

September 25, 2013 - Light/medium ruby which grows pale at rim. Floral nose that has violets, rose water and dry earth as core elements. Tobacco leaf come out with air time. Bright and lively mouth feel - precision with no harsh edges. This bottles as entered maturity and is starting to show secondary flavors - especially mushroom. Absolutely satisfying. A good bit of tannin remains ensuring a long life ahead. (93)

December 20, 2011 - Not drinking well. Bought on consignment and knowing the caliber of this estate I would gather it was stored improperly. Still a ton of tannins left but lacking in fruit.

February 27, 2010 - Piemonte BYO (HSH): From MG but this was not decanted.
Similar with previous note but just even more fresh and vibrant.

Impressive and intense cherry nose with some dark plum fruit also. Nicely mixed with almonds and vanilla.
Full bodied dark cherry fruit on the palate with great balance and long aftertaste. Very fresh and overall very impressive. Some black pepper showing nicely on the mid-palate.

November 22, 2008 - Wine went from floral on the nose to barnyard aromas to more tar in three hours.
Initial acidic finish disappeared as it showed mellow nebbiolo midpalate with smooth finish.
Drinking well now...nice aged barbaresco. Not alot of structure...just very pleasant wine
