October 1, 2021 - This wine became very scrumptious after 4 hours of decanting where it revealed so much more. But before this it was slightly reductive, closed and quite savoury with minimal fruit. In fact, I suspect the wine was going through a closed phase.

Drink in 7+ years where I suspect it will be an excellent wine.

January 26, 2020 - Initially cassis, pencil shavings, could have been Bordeaux, following several hours open more of a Gevrey meatiness, concentrated and intense, though not particularly complex. Still quite young.

September 26, 2019 - Cellared since release at 14 degrees, popped and poured, very youthfully reticent, still very tannic, I’d say wait another 10 years....

September 21, 2013 - Slightly funky nose. Effortless power. Not overworked. Medium-full body. Lots of nice fruit plus nice oak spice. Big Barossa shiraz for the 21st Century. Will become more interesting in time.

March 23, 2013 - Dense, dark in glass. Typical Barossa nose with leather and eucalyptus notes. Lingering juicy supple tannins and a long finish

July 21, 2012 - Three rising stars of Barossa tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): This is really good stuff with a big chocolate and saddle leather nose and a pure, opulent dark fruit core. The palette is silky and full of juicy berries. There is a level of precision to the spice and acid with super-soft tannins through the finish.
