September 26, 2016 - Dark red/purple, but still a bit translucent. Some sediment at the bottom of the bottle. The wine took about half an hour to open up. When it did it was an excellent experience.
Pleasant but firm aromas of dark fruits, cedar, spices and faint cigar. Also a nice waft of earthiness and mineral tones. Not a heavy aroma.
A beautiful medium bodied wine, good acidity and still a nice firm structure. Drying tannins and a black tea element. Rich but not heavy flavours of dried red fruits (strawberries) and plums. There is another flavour on the fruit side but I can’t place it. It is deeper and maybe a bit more bitter (or “not” sweet). Tobacco and a dusty tannin presence. Nice spice element with a bit of minerality on the finish. Not a heavy feeling wine. Well balanced. Very nice quaffing.

    Excellent rapport plaisir-prix

August 11, 2012 - Agree with the notes posted by Corgoson. Maybe Beaurjolais is not my thing, but I found the wine to be too one dimensional. It lacks depth to deserve a better score.

September 14, 2011 - This was very good, and changed my mind about Beaujolais. I'd agree with the notes from Corgoson below.

August 15, 2011 - Nose: strong black fruit, black plum, cedar, cigar, dusty with hint of eucalyptus. Taste: Sour red fruits dominating. Bit of dry strawberry and wild berries. Tobacco, ground pepper, wood dust. Dry with soft controlled tannin. Very smooth wine with lingering coffee grinds. Medium body and might open up more with time. Nice warm spices and soy sauce underneath. Well balanced.
