February 7, 2022 - Drank my remaining 4 bottles over Christmas/New Year/Chinese New Year. No detailed notes but these were all past prime and a shadow of when I drank the first 2 of the case on 12/31/2018 and scored them 93pts (which is high on my personal scale). I should have listened more to the doubters at that time.

November 15, 2020 - Light golden yellow; ripe white pear, slightly oxidized / light sherry; rich broad taste with a bit of toast, really tasty, the oxidation does not detract in my opinion; really good, but drink up now I believe (in general Kistler whites seem to last approx 10 years but not more)

May 31, 2020 - 2009 Kistler Chardonnay Wine Tasting with Coravin. Three different vineyards.
All room temperature. Whisky, light brownish-amber with a touch of floating sediment. Sultry lady. Fairly oxidised with peach nectar, burnt apples, honey and burnt bread. Alluring, definitely not the gal next door. Sticky, gooey pears, apples, tangy orange and peaches on the palate. Luscious and rich…perhaps only one date, but oooweebaby, one you will not forget!!!

January 11, 2020 - Medium yellow color. Aromas of pear, almonds, grapefruit skins and minerals. Ripe, beautifully balanced fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Very intense and nervy on the palate. Surprisingly fresh for an 11 year old California Chardonnay.

  • NY Wino Does not like this wine: 84 points

November 24, 2019 - Deep yellow hue, nutty, alightly oxidized nose, the wine is past peak on going downhill fast. First sip was ok but quickly faded in the glass and became undrinkable after 10 minutes. Kistlers really can’t age beyond 7-9 years max.
