November 18, 2023 - Served in half bottle by a friend to accompany cheese. The bottle had been stored well for 20 years and was opened 20 minutes before serving.

Pleasant plummy colour and some evidence of fruit on the nose. Once poured, the palate was very smooth, quite palatable, but lacking in any real depth or tertiary qualities. Interesting to taste.

July 29, 2015 - Mandarin cake, mild mushroom, lime jelly bean, vin Jaune, and sexy decaying peach leads to a lemon curd, cocktail onion, washed rind, saline palate.

Cigar box, Orange and dark fruits flagrance.
Mouth starts with oak and earthy notes, then comes agrumes notes. Nice length with acid final

November 3, 2013 - Bright and dark coloured. Subtle floral aromas emerge, with hints of raspberry.
Time has done its job and rewarded on flavour. Alcohol, tanins, acidity are round and soft. A fresh wine, but with some power that emerges in the mouth, with a long finish. A clasic top notch Rioja, that paired wonderfull with a prime rib roast.

September 22, 2011 - Small Rioja gathering (RSJ, London SE1): Pale and advanced colour. Light raspberryish nose. Clean too that follows on the palate, though a bit diffuse. A very gentle Tondonia that suffered a bit in this company. More time or a better vintage needed?

December 24, 2005 - A perfectly decent wine but something of a letdown to drink just a day after the beautifully elegant '98 Bosconia. (It probably says a lot about the Bosconia that I lasted barely a day before trying this bottle.) Less integrated and more structured, this one needs a little time to come together. Dry tannin supports medium-bodied autumnal fruit with flavors of apples, hickory, and spices. The finish is dry and ashen. Soft mushroom aromas contribute to the uncanny sensation of the wine feeling like a rainy day in the woods. It's not the most uplifting wine but it would make a perfect companion the next time the skies are gray and you don't feel like budging from the couch.
