  November 7, 2011 - Opened and consumed over two days.
  
  Day one: Red currant color. Vegetal candy nose, mint, American oak, not pleasant. Palate disjointed, with some red fruit buried by the oak. Light mouth feel, medium- acidity. Firm charred oak tannin.
  
  Day two: This has come around quite a bit, and I was worried about it yesterday. No need to fear, as now it is behaving like a mountain cab should. Austere nose of red currant, graphite. Yummy tart red fruit, great balance in the mouth, with some secondary leather and eucalyptus. Still light in the mouth, with medium- acidity. Finish is pleasant but quaint.
  
  This needs 2+ years, and should probably be consumed within 3-5 years. If you are looking for a well priced, old school, highland claret, this is a sleeper. Score reflects day two. 14.1%
