Community Tasting Notes 4

October 25, 2019 - Very gulpable, lovely wine. Rich, ripe lemon, with some well balanced sugar. Not the most complex wine but yummy.

September 10, 2018 - Pleasant enough, great acidity to balance out the sugar. First thought was it reminded me of drinking Lemonheads. With air and warmth some additional citiric complexity arose but nothing profound. Pleasant enough sipper to pair with some extra spicy Thai food.

September 10, 2018 - Lemon-lime, pineapple and Fresca refresher. Zero finish. Disappointed at first but then drank half the bottle like when I was a fat eight year old sneaking a can of grape pop.

August 16, 2012 - Apples, salinity and acidity, it's hard not to like this. Very refreshing.

Terry Theise Estate Selections

    2012 German Catalog, 6/1/2012 (link)

(Eugen Müller Forster Kirchenstück Riesling Auslese) ($32.00) As was often the case, tasting ‘11s did not flatter the few remaining ‘10s, so I’ll neither repeat last year’s note nor write a new one. I believe in the wine, though, and happily offer it again. +

(Eugen Müller Forster Kirchenstück Riesling Auslese) ($33.00) Perilously close to 3-plus territory, and also keenly close – disorientingly so – to a Dönnhoff wine, like some amalgam of Dellchen, Kirchenstück and Hermannshöhle; about as juicy and salty and writhingly sexy as Riesling ever gets, with mint and sencha and cherry; seriously wonderful and possibly great wine.
