February 19, 2024 - Mid / upper-shoulder fill. Capsule in tact and cork in sound condition. Shared by a generous friend / merchant.

Flabergastingly youthful on both the nose and the palate. Complete package of everything that one could ask for aged claret. Thie youthfulness of this wine resembled many 2000s, but with all the benefits of additional maturity. Simply stunning.

January 13, 2024 - The best bottle of this I am ever going to taste was off the charts from the moment it hit the glass, An incredible array of earthy scents with dark chocolate, truffle, cigar box, fig, leafy herbs, dried cherries, dried red plums, and old flowers resonated in the nose. The palate was even better with its concentration, salty rocks, dried berries, cherries, cocoa powder, and plums. Intense, palate-filling, long, silky, lush, and complex, the finish continued long after the wine went where it was intended to go. Provenace was the name of the game here. Drink from 2024-2035.

July 22, 2023 - A perfect bottle and as good as old Bordeaux gets. Lovely nose, beautiful sexy palate. Wow. Consensus WOTN among the 1961's (Haut Brion, La Mission HB, Palmer, and Trotanoy).

May 23, 2021 - Tasted blind, this wine had a very deep red/purple center with orange rims. The high- intensity nose put forth black cherry, tan spices, mocha, and some roasted Provencal herb.

In the mouth, This wine was medium bodied with lovely richness, very fine-grained tannin, and superb length. It was creamy, lush, and silky but was had an awesome flavor impact.

This beauty is ready now but should continue to perform at this level for 20+ years.

May 3, 2019 - Took a while to find another great one, but this bottle was fantastic. Smooth fruit, varied soil tones, soft spices and residual wood notes. Silky palate and long finish. 97-98

January 18, 2018 - Trotanoy Vertical with Edouard Moueix (Nomad): Awesome wine. Still remarkably young and vibrant. Perfectly balanced with all the signature Trotanoy plum and smoke flavors. One of the wines of the night for me. Trotanoy vertical 1945-1982 (+1998, 2009,2010)

December 17, 2017 - Finally, a bottle of this legend that matched up to its lofty reputation. The concentration, intensity and pure silk feeling of this bottles was off the charts. Incredibly seductive, the wine drenched your palate with a blend of ripe, plums and truffles. Absolutely mind blowing wine!

October 16, 2017 - Hickory woodsmoke. A deeper wine overall but this bottle was begiining to show hints of oxidation and mushroom. 92-

November 28, 2016 - My second time with this legendary wine, and while both bottles have been good, they have never been great. This bottle was served double blind against 70, 82 & 98 Trotanoy, and all those other bottles bested this. The wine was quite good, but it did not deliver the magic in the glass I was expecting. Clearly, the wine has the depth, concentration of raw materials, and aromatic complexities of a very good, Bordeaux, but it lacks the nuances and attention seeking complexities, coupled with the length and decadence that a great 1961 Pomerol should deliver. Perhaps, at close to 60 years of age, this is simply, tired?
