Community Tasting Notes 10

August 31, 2022 - Restaurant BTG. Perfectly acceptable BTG option for the foie gras appetizer. Rich with honeycomb and apricot. Good weight, good+ balance, even with just moderate depth.

November 28, 2020 - Certainly pleasant enough to drink. Lighter in color than many Sauternes and a little thin on taste too. Lacking in complexity, but nothing off about it. Quaffable.

January 26, 2019 - It has been over 4 years since I have tried this. 65% Semillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc. The color is beginning to become deeper. Notes of dried apricots and pineapple. Excellent and easy drinking wine now. Definitely not a sweet wine person, but I can always make an exception from a good Sauternes. Paid $26

May 31, 2017 - It struck me last night just how much this sauternes depends on food - this time with a dessert with plenty of fruit and cream and the glass paired perfectly. Just enough acid to cut through the milk fat and plenty of oohs you like to hear around the dinner table when a dessert wine is served.

January 1, 2017 - I had plenty to drink by the time I was sipping on a bit of this Sauternes, so take my notes with a heavy pinch. This wine had a pleasant enough nose, but found the body a little thin. I like my stickies with a little more viscosity. On the palate, the wine had a slightly bitter accompaniment to the sweetness which was not to my liking. That said, this represents decent value, and it's just fine for a group in a casual setting. Save your Guirauds/Suduiraut/Y'quems for more momentous occasions.
