March 30, 2019 - My first of four. Slow-oxed for six hours then nursed all evening. I found this young and in need of a few more years, even though it benefited immensely from air and definitely needs a long decant today. Petrol on the nose and palate. Some stone fruit and citrus perfume as well. Strong acidity that threatens to overwhelm the fruit. Dry and structured.

January 22, 2019 - Birthday bottle, which I drank from the Grassl Glass Mineralité glass. As it was a bit of an impulse to open this, I did pop and pour, though there was about an hour from my first couple of sips to any serious drinking. I am sure that helped the wine open up.

It's hard to describe the wine other than to say it was monumental. The non-fruit elements were clearly the focus of the wine, but not because the fruit had faded, but rather because the stone foundation of the wine demanded center stage. The aromatics were gorgeous, with some crisp tree fruit tones, but more salty, savory, fresh pine, rain on hot stones and clean forest scents than I could absorb. Completely dry on the palate, it nevertheless had a richness in the mid-palate, before the acidity cut through like a blade. I never did find out how long the finish was, as I kept going back for another sip before it faded. I know that wine is supposed to be a partner to the food, but this bottle grabbed my attention to the point where I barely paid attention to what I was eating.

Captivating stuff that has eons to go before it fades.

October 3, 2018 - Light golden color. Flowers, spice, and intense peach aromas. Rather light weight for Clos Ste. Hune but very assertive and flavorful. Completely dry. Hallmark acidity has carried it this far, but based upon this excellent bottle, I would surmise that this is fully resolved (or perhaps even a touch beyond peak) and will not improve from here.

September 15, 2018 - Yum, showing very well, PnP, started decently chilled. Didn't get time to sit with this too long. Nose was nice.

September 15, 2018 - light straw golden color. Dry with intense layers of minerality and stone fruit. Amazing, drinking very well now but clearly built for the long haul.
a treat to try this, thanks so much MrBry83. 95 pts
