April 13, 2012 - Excellent, and a great snag from the Mystery Wine series - I was very excited to see a Ramey label when I ripped open my first spring shipment from Garagiste, and a single vineyard at that. Since it has a few years on it, I didn't have my usual qualms about diving in the day after the boxes got here, so with a rack of lamb, I ran to get one of these - Score! Really rich cabernet nose with lots of cedar, some cranberry. On the palate, very flavorful but NOT a lush cult cab type and in no way cloying. Lightly tannic, this is a great representative of cali fruit made with some old world sensibilities.
