April 4, 2018 - PnP. No detailed notes. Drinking well. Still time left on this one.

January 19, 2018 - This is aged perfectly and drinking great right now for my palate. So glad I sat on a few of these. While they were balanced and very much enjoyable in a more youthful state, the additional complexity at this point pays off the wait and belies the modest $15(!!) I paid for these.

Medium(+) garnet color with some transparency. Aromas of dark and dark red fruits (both fresh and dried), herbs, coffee, cedar, tar, black tea, potpourri, tobacco, and damp earth. Medium body, medium(+) acid, long finish, and flavors of dark and dark red fruits, lemon, herbs, and spices. Very nice.

August 31, 2016 - Checking in again and still doing well. I think this will age nicely a little longer as well. Medium garnet at this point. Aromas of cherry, black cherry, kirsch, plum, earth, eucalyptus, cinnamon, some faint cedar, and some underlying floral. Medium body, acid, and finish, and flavors of cherry, black cherry, maybe a little darker fruits as well, and baking spices. No harm at all in drinking now, but I like 'em a little dusty, so I'll give the next bottle another year or two. Good stuff. Love to find a balanced zin like this (a la Ridge).

May 25, 2015 - Really nice zin here with great balance—I liken this to Ridge stylistically. Better than my first bottle last year too. Deep coloring that's somewhere between ruby and crimson towards the edges. Earthy aromas of soil, eucalyptus, and dark fruits. Medium body, medium+ acidity and finish, and flavors of dark red and black fruits, iron, and herbs. Paired well with peach bbq chicken off the grill today. 90+

November 19, 2014 - Even better than a prior bottle of three months ago, and a fun last minute pop-n-pour on National Zinfandel Day. On the nose, lithe, high-toned red fruit, laced with hints of oak, pepper, and wet grass. Gorgeous, pure fruit on the palate -- black cherry and raspberry -- bright and fresh. Notes of mint, anise, and menthol lead to a peppery finish. Super.
