December 20, 2020 - Just buying this wine makes me look like a bozo. Mollydooker make big, fruit forward wines that are designed to be drunk young. I bought this, a 2006 Blue Eyed Boy, and a 2003 Marquis Philips #9 Shiraz to compare- crazy at the outset...
Big plum notes on the nose, warm unctuous fruit that covers all of my mouth. I have 215 tasting notes on cellartracker. This is the first to use the word mouthfeel. It's great. Soft tannins, long finish, but the unspoken strength of Mollydooker wines is the acidity - this is what makes them last. Very enjoyable cabernet that doesnt taste especially cabernet.
January 7, 2019 - Tastes a little funky. Want to give it another day and see if it improves
November 16, 2018 - Fantastic! Tons of life left in this one. Need to find more of the 2010
October 22, 2018 - Color: purple with slightest tinge of red
Nose: eucalyptus, minor petroleum off notes
Palate: cedar, candied cherries, molasses
Mouthfeel: smooth, satin with dry finish
Drank much better at opening than even just an hour open.
November 19, 2015 - HUGE Cab Sav .... a monstrous 16% but drinking beautifully for those who fancy a strong, explosive fruit-bomb!
December 27, 2014 - Gorgeously opulent and rich, layered with spice, nuts, pine, leather, honey. Nice alcohol with a medium finish. A good vin de table.
December 7, 2014 - Dense, smooth, nice cabernet fruit and subtle oak.
October 4, 2014 - Opened up nicely after decanting. Dark fruit flavers. Medium tannins with long finish
August 23, 2014 - Nose: ripe blackberry, plum
Taste: great weight and mouthfeel, lively tannins, big fruit.
May 26, 2014 - Deep purple, fruit and oak on the nose, big black cherry taste with some spice. Good balance with a nice long finish. Should cellar another 5 years.
