April 1, 2022 - Still tasting great right now !! I agree with my note of over 8 months ago.
The cork was perfect after over a decade in the bottle. This balanced Pinot Noir was consumed over two days. Deep ruby color with mild oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of red raspberry and pomegranate, flavors of red fruit compote, rhubarb with a hint of forest floor and a medium finish. Good winemaking from Ben Papapietro. This Pinot Noir is age worthy wine and may have some life left, however, this is my last bottle of this vintage year.

June 16, 2021 - Still tasting pretty good right now !! The cork was perfect after over a decade in the bottle. This balanced Pinot Noir was consumed over two days. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of red raspberry and pomegranate, flavors of red fruit compote, rhubarb with a hint of forest floor and a medium finish. Popped and poured, this wine did not benefit much from gentle oxygen since it was much less interesting and the fruit was gone on day two. A really nice Pinot Noir fruit from the Charles Vineyard in the Anderson Valley appellation and good winemaking from Ben Papapietro. This Pinot Noir is age worthy and may have some life left. I still have one more bottle of this vintage year to try soon and verify my tasting note.

December 9, 2017 - Wonderful nose of tobacco and earthiness. Bright cherry and cranberry fruit. A little tartness that fades quickly. Not much of a finish, but really pops when it first hits your mouth.

November 25, 2016 - Very nice, Burgundy-esque Pinot from Anderson Valley. The nose was a bit restrained on opening but came alive after 30 minutes. Medium in color with cherry and cranberry on the palate. Good balance with a pleasant acidity but not particularly complex. Be aware, the flavors seemed to shut down after about three hours, so drink quickly!

November 14, 2015 - Earth, tobacco and baking spice on the nose. Macerated berries come out prominently on the palate, with a touch of the classic Anderson Valley tartness. In a good drinking window now.

August 11, 2014 - Consumed over two days. Smoky and spicy. Good balanced. Initially reticent, but fruit aromatics come alive eventually. Very solid. Still young and could use a decant.

April 7, 2014 - Great nose. Clearly Anderson Valley. Lighter in fruit but still relatively full-bodied. Really nice. Good acidity but worked well (better?) without food.

April 7, 2014 - Great nose. This was clearly not a RRV wine, and less fruity than many Papapietros. Definitely on the lighter side fruit-wise, yet still very good body. Very nice.
