October 9, 2016 - Tastes younger than you would expect. Full of fruit, cherries.

June 28, 2009 - First, let me say that I hate this idea of a plastic cork. This bottle is one of the rare cabernet and syrah blend.
Your basic Pop and pour. Left wine in the glass for 30 minutes. No decanting. Deep, deep purple, almost black. Nose offered notes of spices, ripe berries. In the mouth, more ripe berries, spices and pepper. Tart, with some complexities. Nice mouthfeel and could hardly detect any heat. Well integrated. Medium finish.
I must confess that it is better than I expected. -

November 10, 2008 - This is the best bottle of this wine I have had yet. I've really struggled with wine bottled under the plastic cork, but this bottle seemed to be less affected.

October 26, 2008 - I bought a lot of B & H wines back in the middle of the last decade and most where bottled under plastic corks. All of the wines were great in thier youth but all seem a bit boring to me know. I am not sure if its the wines or the corks. They certainly do not seem to have aged well but at the same time, i really do not see any flaws.

April 27, 2007 - Bottle was opened and left in the cellar for two hours prior to pouring - no decanting. Note: underneath the wax capsule was an artificial cork. The nose was very enticing - ripe fruit, a hint of tartness, pepper and spice. On the palate, the wine started out in a similar fashion - very powerful, ripe fruit - lots of pepper and spice - but then a rather harsh bitterness entered the picture. In the first glass, the bitterness was in the background - as the wine warmed up, it came to the forefront, as did the alcohol. This is a tough wine to evaluate, as there is a really nice core of powerful fruit, and the finish is lengthy and powerful as well, but the alcohol and the bitterness were present as well. It's a complex wine - but in the end, the bitterness and the burn were flaws that couldn't be overlooked, and took away from the wine's enjoyment. Could this be due to the artificial cork???
