November 19, 2012 - Nice smooth flavour profile. Cherries, milk chocolate, oak, lots of ripe fruit. On the palette, slight grippy tannins, raisins, sweet and sour cherries. Mellow and soft. I really like this Cali Merlot. Tannins tell me it easily has a few years left before it starts it decline. But definitely ready to drink right now. Very enjoyable.

June 3, 2012 - Excellent. Purchased at winery several years ago. Better than i remember. Full bodied. Smooth. Time in cellar really brought out the complexity and fruit notes in this one.

September 18, 2011 - Drinking at its prime now. Very subtle tannins add a nice balance.

December 9, 2010 - Dark red purple that's constant to the rim (5/5). On the nose is a plush caramel "plumberry" that's not overpowering but doesn't hide (11/15). Dark plum and chocolate rule the mid-palate with a slight hint of raisin toward the end (an Amarone raisin, not a "badly kept wine" raisin). Fat and filling mouthfeel with none of that slick California "sheen." Tannins of starched velvet are present and noticeable, but not overpowering (15/20). All in all just an exceptionally well-made wine, wonderful to experience on its own but singing with the right food (beef stew, filet mignon). Should continue to show for several more years if properly kept, though it's as integrated and developed as it's going to get now (8/10). Why wait?

November 20, 2010 - Tannins are still holding strong - this wine has a lot of body. Dark fruit on the nose, with some cherry notes. Mouthfeel is big and gripping, dark fruit with oak and a nice, lingering finish. Should drink well for the next few years.
