May 28, 2023 - Just very good, not brilliant like the 2014 and the 2017. Very Dauvissat, with an intense beam of salty lime and freshly cut grass, then a soupcon of vanilla from the elevage. A touch of hyancinth on the nose with more air. Notably bitter and long on the finish, like taking a draft of undersweetened lemonade and then sucking on a pebble. Really enjoyed this, but a wine that (nowadays) costs this much needs to perform even better to offer reasonable QPR.
January 4, 2023 - Decanted for 1 hour. Iodine, lemon and some brothy vitamins on the nose. Deep but lively and savory palate, lemony fruit and good acidity
November 23, 2022 - Superb tonight. A point. Great energy and notes of iodine, salty, yellow fruit, medium body. Pèrfect with sea urchin
July 8, 2022 - Pale; oystershell, fresh as a daisy; saline, focused, penetrating, resonant; extended finish. Full of vigour, will drink well for a further decade.
June 28, 2022 - Medium yellow that still retains a glint of green. Some sulfur and lots of salty broth on the nose. Medium weight, savory, great acidity, and like licking a block of salt. I know that this will be a reach for many people, but between the sulfur and the salt, the primordial mix reminded me of the experience of visiting the Kilauea volcano caldera after an eruption as steam was still venting. At any rate, terrific and fresh.
January 16, 2022 - First glass was a bit muted and a touch lactic, but it blossomed beautifully after sitting 15 minutes in the glass. Generous ripe citrus fruits and creamy toast. Forward and concentrated with maturing fruits, impressive balance of salinity and dry extract, quite delicious. Although not as good as Raveneau in 2010. (89/100)
November 19, 2021 - Full yellow. Fresh lemon scents along with a bit of sea mist. Medium weight, bracing acidity, herb, and stone. Just as it was 3 years ago, poised on knife's edge between retaining its essential lean core and adding the flesh that early maturity brings. Because of this, it worked beautifully with briny oysters early in the meal when it was on the cooler side and equally well with richer fish dishes as it warmed. A wonderful bottle that at least partially assuaged several notable recent disappointments with Dauvissat wines.
November 13, 2021 - Blind - nobody guessed the Chablis, humiliating game this blind tasting dinners ;-) I felt it had some maturity and was guessing 05 white Burg, Puligny 1er. Quite mellow with honeyed red apple. In a nice spot.
December 12, 2020 - There's a drizzle of honey over river rocks, coupled with plenty of saline mineral notes. With air you get some lavender and apricot, perhaps from some botrytis? It is dense and chalky, with good intensity and complexity. It is ready to go.
September 8, 2019 - Consistent with prior note. Maybe a little more intense with more power and that old barrel funk/salinity. Just awesome
