April 5, 2022 - Wow what a great surprise. From a mag acquired upon release. Decanted 6 hours before drinking. Brite garnet color. Big nose of dark cherry and leather. Palate showed beautifully resolved tannins and soft acids. Yielding more cherry jam, leather along with savory notes and mint on the finish. long soft finish. love this bottle and will buy more mags if I can find them. Mature wine with a great future from large formats.

March 21, 2021 - Slow-oxed for 9 hours upon serving into Sy glass (“Root” into “Flower” day): Pale bright ruby with fine deposits.

    Savoury, leafy notes. Red cherries.

    Still needs time. 94 points.

    Reserved for longer term observations.

Second round: signature powdery cosmetics from the too echelon of Piemonte. Minerality that resembles seaweed. Wow. Upgrade to 95 points.

Third round: even “sweeter” red fruits.

December 2, 2018 - Beautiful wine, don't recall any barnyard vs. previous taster. Lovely ripe red fruit with complex notes of macerated cherry. Nice structure with well-integrated tannins. Definitely drinking at prime, but not too old - perfect!

October 21, 2016 - Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont - 2016 Edition; 10/21/2016-10/23/2016 (Piedmont, Italy): Good bottle and cork. Served with no decanting .
Dark colour and definitely the extra extraction and ripeness , which probably was too much in its youth, has definitely helped this wine make the journey and was drinking very well. Good dark fruit, layered, elegant wine, fine nose, light earthy, light herbal at times. Very solid and worthy of its price tag. 94-95
