December 23, 2021 - BTG at Noble Rot. Still very much full of life, and at its peak. Delicate and perfumed but also dirty and mushroomy. Still tight and slightly green on the palate, but very satisfying. Fantastic.

December 23, 2020 - Still quite a bit of reduction in this wine. If you know 1996, this is typical of the vintage, still with austerity, but also with intense, penetrating dark plum fruit and excellent precision. Maybe to 2036 for this wine to reach full maturity, but alas, this is my last of six bottles. Fortunately, I still have remaining bottles of the Reynard. Lot L1. Cellared since original release.

April 15, 2019 - Renegade Wine Dinner - Thierry Allemand (Marc Forgione - Tribeca, NYC): More barnyard funk on the nose here, a darker mature fruited profile, more rustic, quite savory with some iron and meat, less of the silky mouthfeel. My least favorite of the flight (96, 95, 94).

February 12, 2019 - Off the list at Troquet. PnP out of the rather cold cellar. This is a more austere and rustic rendition of Allemand, but none the less has all of the DNA that makes Allemand Cornas great. Huge old-school N. Rhone nose, that starts a bit stinky but has loads of green olive, game, and savory dried black fruit. The palate is fairly taut and stern, but provides plenty of savory, olivey pleasure.

June 20, 2018 - Quite a burly, dark fruited wine. Much rougher and less beguiling than more recent vintages of Allemand. Perhaps this represents more of the old school style of Cornas? Not sure. Still interesting to drink and not sure where it will go.
