August 11, 2017 - Very nice California cab. Fruit forward. Tannins still a little hard though this may just be how the wine will always be. Mostly black fruit. I think the 87 is better.

May 22, 2017 - This is a beauty. Deeper and fuller than the 1987, loaded with Cabernet fruit, deep black cherries, anise, tobacco. Long on the palate, ripe spicy tannins, and black as ink. But needs time in the cellar to truly blossom. Amazingly young and fresh, with balanced acidity. Drink or hold. Now through 2035.

March 11, 2017 - Very solid performer in tasting of 3 1986's: Heitz Napa and Haut Brion were the other two. I thought this was the wine of the night, just barely, over the 86 Heitz. Still showing dark cherry fruit, with earth and mineral nuances. Smooth and elegant, I wouldn't wait any longer to enjoy this.

March 7, 2017 - Totoraku Cali Cabs & Syrahs Dinner (Totoraku): This wine is still so incredibly ALIVE. Vibrant fruit, and drinking beautifully right now. Great stuff. Wish I had more!
