April 25, 2020 - Bought a case of this and it has been a pleasure to drink starting a few years ago. When young it was a wonderful bomb of fruit and tannin then it went dumb in my cellar for at least 10 years. It has now matured with the tannins still there but softened a great deal finally allowing the fruit to appear. Cork was in pristine shape with only a 3/8 inch run up the cork. Some Bordeaux like funk on opening but revealing a lot of cedary notes and a hint of tobacco. The dark berry fruit is now prominent but the tannin is still very noticeable but not obnoxious. Finished a little short but still fresh tasting even after two nights open . A subtle tobacco note compliments the dark cherry fruit on night two. Drink now probably best but can hold another 2-3 years. Good old style California cabernet.

April 20, 2020 - Upon opening hint of blackberry with Smokey and slightly musty aroma. As it opened taste of black cherry with hints of chocolate and fruit aroma. Dark red color held, bright for the age. Private collection 750 ML bottle mostly in wine cellar possibly compromised with move(s).

December 30, 2019 - From a magnum. Very disappointed in this one. One taster described it's nose suciencty as stepping into a cigarette strewn barn. Still had good color, but relatively simple and soft fruit on the pallet. I wish we'd drunk it a decade earlier.

November 20, 2019 - Tasted blind. Prune, oxidized, stewed, old coffee grounds, just awful aromas. Smells like a very old Barolo desperately in need of a long decant but the color is dark, unlike an old Barolo. Palate shows some real power, inky, almost like a Petite Sirah. A few hours later the stink is nearly gone and there's some sweet fruit on the palate with a dose of mint and lovely acidity. A real shock when revealed, nobody even mentioned old Cabernet. A great experience and a humbling lesson.

November 16, 2019 - Tasted blind. Several in attendance thought this was horribly stinky, but for whatever reason, I did not find it objectionable at all. Definitely a little pruney, but once in the mouth the wine was marvelous, with great intensity, potent dusty tannins, sweet fruit and excellent balance. I'd certainly drink it again.
