  October 12, 2014 - French barrels and ripe spicy fruit, this could almost be a Bdx. While it's not my usual style of Rioja, they've done a nice job here. The wine has great volume in the mouth, but feels naturally concentrated and sapid, not overblown. There's soil inflection in the profile, and notes of meat and spice that are typical of Rioja and probably will come out more in a couple years, making it taste less Bdx/Intl as it opens up. Great price, too.

  May 5, 2014 - Enjoyed this second bottle more than 2 years after the first. It has definitely exited the primary fruit phrase and is kind of lovely right now. A lot of complexity for a non-Reserva and quite a lot going on. If you have any, I'd drink up within the next year or two.
