December 25, 2022 - In honour of Argentina and my all time favourite footballer, Messi I opened one of my favourite producers Malbec which happened to be the finest I’ve tried. Made from 90 year old vines, aged in new FR oak for 15 months. Deep opaque purple, violet hue. To die for exploding aroma of blueberries, ink, violets, leather, earth, sweet tobacco, spices. Full body, velvety, seamless and harmonious with layered fruity, earthy and fragrant flavours, oaky touch, lively acidity, powdery melting tannins, everlasting finish.

    September 7, 2022 - 1st of 6, Slow ox 4 hours.

Seemingly harvested at an apogee of ripeness and structure. Fresh florals, dark fruit, with a touch of dry leaf herb and elevating mineral notes added on the palate. Impeccably balanced and smoothed tannins. Seamless transit across the palate finishing with a slow fade.

Brilliant, effortless to drink: among the best enjoyed bottles. Will check in soon with bottle #2, hope it shows as well and try to get a sense for the length of the window at this level but suspect this is a 20+ year wine.

Note moderate+ sediment, will decant next time.

July 14, 2021 - A little disappointed with this. Been sitting on it since release. Was a gift. It wasn’t blind to me so Malbec notes were distinct but acidity was more than I want. Maybe it’ll settle down still?

July 10, 2021 - I thought this was Napa cab blind, and it had voluptuous fruit, purple fruit notes and later added a bright acidic spine atypical of Napa. Nice with with moderate depth--but has stiff competition on this night.
