    April 12, 2016 - Clear, medium garnet-brick.

Aromatic with age: black cherry jam, creme de cassis, fresh black pepper, cinnamon, and slight cocoa.

Off-dry, medium-full body. Flabby acidity. Medium, dry tannins. Fairly well balanced, but lacking in acidity. Moderate flavors of: prominent mature red fruit, very slight minerality, somewhat salty, and burnt sugar.

    Long-length finish. Aged quite well.

August 18, 2013 - Decent wine for the price, but for a red blend, I would refer Menage A Tois

July 15, 2012 - Ok wine disappointed. Really enjoy Concannon Cab, thought this upgrade would be great. Sorry to say liked regular issue much more, especially for the price.

July 9, 2012 - Ripe and fleshy with great bramble fruits with flavors of red and black berries, hints of licorice, spice and mineral. It's leaning more toward jammy with super ripe fruit, but balanced well with the other influences which keep it from going too far to being a fruit bomb. Nice wine. Beautifully concentrated fruit.

June 7, 2012 - Tommy James would no doubt describe Concannon Conservancy's 2009 Crimson & Clover as "ShondelLICIOUS"! 50% Petite Sirah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah & 10% Zinfandel, this wine leads in with a hint of spice on the nose, then moves to a rockin’ steady beat of dark fruit and leather, with a somehow pleasant metal finish. A classic that will please the pop crowd, too, for the price of a 1970 LP.

May 2, 2012 - I dont think it is possible to dislike a wine from Concannon Vineyards when the predominant grape is Petite Sirah. I mean, the father of America's first Petite Sirah is Jim Concannon and his experience with growing excellent Petite Sirah is second to none! So it should hold true that the Crimson & Clover will be fantastic since it is a blend of 50% Petite Sirah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, & 10% Zinfandel. Well, I always give credit when credit is due, but the honest truth always lies in the pudding... or the wine I should say.

I opened up this bottle last night for a leisurely glass of wine and a bit of Dubliner cheese. In the glass, it was a bright, clear, garnet color. Long burgundy color legs. On the nose, dark fruit, nutmeg, and even a bit floral. Very pleasing on the palate. Very rich with lots of blackberry, black cherry, and some brambly spiciness in the back palate. It even had a mid palate chocolate but a hint of vanilla on the finish. The mouthfeel was soft and creamy, but bursting with fruit and spice! I really enjoyed this wine and I think it is a perfect wine for the new American palate. Lots of fruit, soft spices, and a soft finish. I like my wines a bit edgier and provocative but this is a wine I would buy again and you cant beat the price at $9.99 a bottle! So I give this an A- SiNoTas. (SIght, NOse, TASte). Its the Trifecta on the softer side of my palate! WineSplashing!!!

April 15, 2012 - Deep ruby color with good legs. Plum/Cherry nose. Low tannin...almost immediately drinkable with little breathing...but improved over several hours. Nice with a steak but didn't work with the caramelized onions I made to accompany the meat. Great sipping in front of a fire for the rest of the evening.
