December 29, 2020 - Rose petal and tar on the nose. On the palate, dried cherry and strawberry with notes of anise, leather, and black tea, with light tannins and moderate acidity on the medium to long finish. This seemed very advanced compared to what others are reporting here, which may reflect bottle variation. This was a very good to excellent value at the $60 I paid for it; at the $90+ value later vintages are selling for, it would be an average value.

November 6, 2020 - Immer noch starke Säure. Solider. Aber kann mit den Conternos nicht mithalten.

September 5, 2020 - Still just a baby and a short decant did not do this any justice. Fairly classic with all the right notes of cherry, licorice, florals and tar but it needs more time to integrate and flesh out.

June 17, 2020 - Both bottles were drinking nicely with at least 2-3 years life ahead of them. Interestingly there was significant bottle variation, with one having a much more tannic mouthfeel than the other. Both had deliciously juicy red fruit, and lovely acidity. Nose was delightful with a lot of dried roses, tar, black tea, and perhaps even some figs.

January 13, 2020 - (mostly) Castiglione Falletto vs Serralunga, 2005-earlier (Osteria Langhe, Chicago IL): this was sadly off. It was stewed with a bunch of soy
