January 27, 2019 - Deep garnet red. Rich nose with layers of red berries, cassis, damp herbs, eucalyptus, underbrush and damp earth. Well rounded with medium tannins (6/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Rich palate with layers of black fruits, dark spices, damp loamy earth, cherries and black plums. Long and plush finish. Drink till 2022.

April 1, 2018 - A truly amazing wine. Kudos to Fisher. If you have it, perfectly ready o drink. Paired perfectly with grilled lamb.

March 2, 2014 - 14% abv. Lamb Vineyard is nestled at the foot of the Palisades in the Napa Valley and was planted in 1982. Dark purple color; opaque. Prominent fruit notes--cassis--mingle with leather and licorice. Fruit seems quite ripe. Polished in presentation with a rather lengthy finish and integrated tannins, especially by the third evening. The first evening I had it with cheddar cheese and on its own after eating chicken Brunswick stew at a dinner supporting Operation Inasmuch. The second evening I had it with sirloin steak, a baked potato and a side dish of vegetables.

January 11, 2013 - Bacon and roasted meat on the nose along with dried cherries. Light on the palate with flavors that match the nose, maybe a tad passed maturity. NIce, but a fraction of the same bottle we had only a few months ago.

August 5, 2012 - Opened, not decanted. Drunk out of Sommelier stems, which did make a noticeable difference as I initially poured into standard Reidel's. First 45 mins this has bordeaux characteristics but is missing a layer of depth/complexity. Within an hour it opens into an expressive wine with great bdx character. Tobacco, earth and leather on the nose; I like KCP"s descriptor of "savory", as this is a "meaty" wine that shows off mature black cherry, plum and dark fruits with well-integrated tannins and a touch of earth-minerality. My wife is an extremely hard rater (and a chef) and she gave this a 96. I'm right with her. Among my top 5 WOTY so far. Will drink my remaining bottle in 2-4 years, but this will likely last
longer if the provenance is sound.
