February 8, 2019 - Wow, Was blown away by this bottle. One of the best Pegau Reservee I've had if my memory serves me. Classic Pegau a little dirty, touch of barnyard yet super complex with a nice raspberry kirsch, underbrush, herbs and licorice on the nose and palate. Such a unique complex wine.

December 26, 2018 - (magnum) A monumental CdP. Ripe fruit, funky garrigue and a complete, complex personality that belies its youth. A complete wine that will thrill for years to come. Not for lovers of fruit bomb southern Rhône’s, but for folks that love the unique characteristics of the region. Inspiring. (98)

February 17, 2018 - Just fantastic. Gave it a 97 a couple years ago, I am certain it will get back there with time -- just a bit subdued in its emerging early middle age. The mouthfeel is perfect, great classical nose, and herbs, barnyard, dirty rags (in a good way, just hints) with gorgeous red fruit.

October 8, 2017 - Second Sunday Group: 2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (R&D's): Double blind. Opens with a strong brettanomyces note, the good barnyard kind, along with currants and licorice. Medium-bodied, with red berry fruit, raspberry, currant and perhaps even some cherry at times. Licorice and spice qualities in the finish. Medium tannin. Balanced; long finish. Love the earthy/funky quality here. 93-94 pts.

    My #1, Domino's #3
    Group #2, 31 pts
