Community Tasting Notes 11

August 28, 2021 - Gives little away on opening. Strange mix of light yet overripe. Gradually gets a bit better over 2 hours but hard to love. lacks charm or accessibility.. Probably better younger.

March 23, 2014 - A bit tight at first, but opened up after about half an hour in the glass, and held very well overnight. Quite dark black/red in color, but surprisingly light on the palate with flavors of spiced slightly underripe strawberries and cherries. Juicy and delicious.

October 11, 2013 - This was earthy and delicious, far exceeding expectations. Served at about 67 degrees F, this showed well right from the pop and pour. Cherry fruit was present, and welcomed, but only under the cloak of earth, mushrooms, and leather. Very well enjoyed and I will look forward to our other bottle. No reason to wait on this one - it's in a great place right now.

August 25, 2013 - Popped and poured. It looks like this wine has developed nicely since the last tasting notes of over one year ago. Deep, ripe, woody nose with cherries and oak. The same flavors come out on the palate which is smooth and harmonious. There is just a touch of ligneous austerity on the finish which betrays its youth. A bit pricey but a great village wine from an outstanding vintage which will still develop positively for a couple more years.

April 21, 2012 - Really enjoyed this early on in the evening, good depth of character.
