Community Tasting Notes 9

February 15, 2022 - An interesting, not entirely pleasurable nose still with a little matchstick along with mandarin orange and apple, rice vinegar, and with an almost cheesy lactic note.

It's remaining fruit is ripe, but that is contrasted by bright acidity on the palate. More of the same fruit profile, with a sense of minerality and cut, but is off kilter. More lactic and acetic notes. On the upside, there's an quirky wildness and its textural and flavor profile that reminds me of Ganevat's non oxidative Savignins. I am not sure if this is a representative bottle, and will try my only other bottle of it soon to see. Interesting for sure, certainly tired and on the downslope, and a shadow of the 06 Clos Electrique tried a couple days ago.

Second bottle nearly identical to this. Drink up if you dare.

August 23, 2015 - Orange blossom, chalk, vanilla bean, white flowers, sea, and apple. Went well with crab fettuccini. Well balanced with a long finish. Thicker and more orange notes vs the Clos E from what I remember in this vintage. Both amazing whites.

November 28, 2013 - Definitely past the youthful stage and in a great spot, IMO. Golden color. Great aromas/flavors, and still has a great acidic bite.

July 28, 2013 - Brought along to the salmon bake of IPNC, tasted a couple sips at a couple different points in the evening. Really ripe and exotic on first opening up, with time the acidity came more to the front. Happy to have shared this one.

November 22, 2012 - Burgundian -- wet stone, apricot, fig. Great balance, acidity, long finish. I think this wine will be even better in 5 years.
