March 26, 2015 - Complex powerballah nose smells like a much younger wine, followed by a melange of red, black, and blue fruits balanced with ripe acidity and a medium-long tapered finish. A little heat around the edges was detectable after this warmed up a bit from cellar temp and limited my enthusiasm. Overall, a big and classy Cali that will be familiar to Big Basin Syrah fans. Would be perfect with a meatloaf, or as a cocktail wine.
