April 22, 2022 - Cork, 13% alc. Perfect cork; unstained, firm but pliable. Fine sediment.

Earthy and savoury nose; complex and engaging with cherry, light cola, fennel, damp forest floor, beetroot. Backdrop of smoky almond oak, graphite, and angostura bitters.

Some acidic bite on the back palate. Mid-full weight and depth for a Pinot, and a persistent grainy tannin finish.

Needs 30 mins in the glass to drop some reductive stink and open up. This is not a mid-week quaffer; it demands attentions and contemplation.

September 27, 2019 - Full and rich with intense fruit. Plenty of beastly weight and structure but slightly shallow on depth and charm. Unquestionably well made but this will be better in 2025+.

December 7, 2017 - Sweet red fruits, herbal, stalky, straw. Palate is quite full, but supple. Filled with sweet red and black fruits, mushroom, wild herbs, cinnamon quill, mildly spicy. Very supple tannins carry the wine to a pleasing, silky finish. Has the stuffing to go for many years yet.

September 29, 2017 - This has progressed nicely since the last bottle ~3 years ago. Some obvious improvement with time. Full bodied and definitely unique for an Aussie Pinot. Can see it living a lot longer too.

June 23, 2017 - Beautiful nose - cherry and kirsch. The 8 years of age have brought this wine together in a lovely way. It has depth of flavour and it's grown in stature over time. The palate is fuller than in its youth and it coats the mouth and persists with a long finish. Has a few years left in it without a doubt.

April 1, 2017 - A beautiful PN, both deep and broad. There is barnyard and sweet wet straw on the nose. Red cherry and strawberry fruit on the front palate. But the real action is in the mid-palate, which is deeply layered and complex, with bright floral highlights interlaced with darker savoury flavours, including roast meats, forest floor and caramelised mushroom. The tannins are supple and silky, and the balance perfect. This is a wine with a song of joy in its heart. Simply divine.

December 2, 2016 - Shared at the Vivino Sydney Dec 2016 meetup. Absolute bliss. Deep and layered. Sometimes words are just not enough and you just sit back and enjoy the experience, this is one of those wines. I do have one more bottle, so a more detailed and considered review will follow at some point in the future.

July 4, 2015 - Cherries, 5 spice & some white pepper on the nose, stunning red fruit but with lovely earthy characters, great length and oak spice - just keeps going, tannins are fine ripe and slightly drying which adds to the savoury side giving perfect balance - still plenty of time 4+ fingers

March 17, 2015 - Forest floor, black and purple fruit aromas. Palate is mid weighted and well balanced. There are spices, florals, pinot fruit, well managed oak. It comes into its own with food. Lovely. The bottle emptied far too quickly.
