    November 6, 2019 - 12% alcohol, dosage 8-10 g/l. Tasted blind.

Youthful pale yellow-green color. Ripe, nuanced and juicy nose with aromas of golden apples, some creamy custard tones, a little bit of sweet yellow fruits, light buttery tones and a hint of vanilla custard. In one hand the nose feels quite a bit like a crowdpleaser, but on the other hand, enjoyably nuanced and attractive. The wine is ripe, medium-to-moderately full-bodied and juicy on the palate with flavors of ripe citrus fruits, some honeyed richness, a little bit of spicy red apple, light cherry tones, a hint of leesy yeast and a touch of chalky minerality. The sweetness of the dosage peeks a little bit underneath the high acidity. The mousse feels ample, rich and quite persistent. The finish is long, ripe and balanced with clean flavors of ripe citrus fruits, some golden apple, a little bit of leesy creaminess, light chalky mineral tones, a hint of apple peel bitterness and a touch of yeast.

A fruity and solid Champagne. Perhaps a bit crowdpleaser in style without too much complexity, but the pieces are all there and they fit together pretty seamlessly. Nothing thrilling, just a nice, balanced and approachable Champagne that holds still potential to develop further in a cellar. Terrific value at 24€ from the cellar door, but offers still good QPR at the retail price of 43,90€.

October 11, 2019 - Friendly, firm taste, firm acidity, pure; give it a year in the bottle to soften.

December 19, 2018 - Tuttons, Covent Garden for sibling lunch. Limited notes.
Lots of steely minerality and pinot bitterness, the fruit was a little overwhelmed but pleasant enough as a light by-the-glass apéritif house champers.
    More bottle age needed? 88?+

October 13, 2018 - As usual, juicy, good acidity, has persistence in the aftertaste.

September 1, 2018 - Affordable Champagne for Summer; 8/1/2018-9/2/2018 (España - Spain): Another champagne that would need more years in the cellar. Too young right now. Unbalanced between acidity and bitterness. I would wait. Have to recognise I got fatigued palate. € 27. Dosage: 9 g / l

(NV Devaux Grande Réserve) This is two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay. It has a nice, peachy nose, with a hint of smoke. Rather full and quite rich at the start, creamy, with soft acidity. It has a nice flesh, the highest point of definition coming from the rather sharp mousse. A good, easy-drinking wine.
