October 1, 2019 - First Trotanoy; better than anticipated given the average vintage and age; the nose shows plum, a hint of black currant, rose petal, cigar humidor, damp earth, and with air a hint of mint and herbs. The palate is fully mature and the tannins are non-existent; that said it has a silky, suave feel and a lovely finish. Really very enjoyable and well stored bottles probably have a couple years of solid drinking left. That said, there is no upside to cellaring at this point so drink it as soon as the occasion calls!

June 26, 2019 - Fine Wines SG - Bordeaux 80s BYOB (Fine Wines SG): Colour reaching tawny. Nose somewhat restrained, but later showing some grass and earth. On the palate, it’s clearly woody and somewhat cheesy. I think age has caught up

November 3, 2018 - Nose: Beautiful mint, floral and red fruit notes that are perfumed and lively right now. Does not grab you, but rather gently leads you by the hand in showing its charm. Palate: Still full and nicely red fruited with a prominent mint/eucalyptus streak and then cigar, green tobacco and tea notes. Finish: Red fruited with more herbs, vanilla and a bit of acid poking out.

This was the surprise of the night. Exceptional freshness, herb garden notes and lots of nuance. Showing a lighter side of Pomerol.

November 3, 2018 - Certainly a big win for Trotanoy in 1981 with a raspberry, clay based nose and lots of herbal components on top: thyme, oregano, etc. Pencil accents. At this point, it's really showing what it's got and should be drunk within the next few years while the fruit remains adequate.
