November 6, 2012 - Rich golden robe extending to a translucent edge. Honey and pears with a medium body and viscous texture. A bit hollow at mid-palate, but balanced enough to keep sweetness in check.

    July 28, 2012 - 13/20 - ** 1/2
VISUEL: Or paille, brillant et net

March 31, 2012 - Pale golden yellow color. Ripe fruit aromatics, cool steeliness and honeyed notes reminding me of Auslesen wines. Tropical fruits like apricot and peach on the fore. Generous, off-dry palate with honeyed spice and juicy tropical fruits like ripe apricot, pineapple and honeydew melon. Surprisingly acidic and structured for a Pinot Gris, though the wine has slightly oily mouthfeel due to its residual sugar and alcohol. The finish is more fresh and dry with slightly greener aromas: acidic apples and lemony citrusness; also a touch of alcoholic heat.

Overall very balanced and enjoyable Pinot Gris; a classic Alsatian PG nicely balanced between honeyed, off-dry aromatics and nice acidic backbone. A perfect pair for spicy Asian dishes or creamy, strong cheeses. A bargain at 12,38€.
