  March 17, 2022 - Better on night one than night two. Decanted for ~2 hours and registered smoke, dried red fruits, and leather on the nose. Very reminiscent of 90’s Bordeaux on the palate. Night two (after having been poured back into the bottle and vacu-vin’ed in a cool area) had a noticeable bump in heat from alcohol on both nose and palate. Would suggest drinking in one sitting or letting it sit for a few additional years.

  February 24, 2018 - This wine is already starting to develop some secondary characteristic. Still has a nice luscious front, good floral and blackberry bouquet as well. Definitely doesn't drink like a 2001, but I could believe a 2004 or 2005. There is a mushroom and plum note here that developed after an hour of being open. Still has some tannin on the back therefore I still think this one will continue to evolve. I would say that this one is on the back side of the hill. Definitely not still on the way up, but I think that prime drinking for this wine was probably a couple of years ago. Solid 93, probably would have been 94 a year or 2 ago. Nice fourth friday wine!
