November 1, 2016 - This wine stood up to a spicy Calabrese Sausage pizza I was enjoying, the acidity matching the spicy sausage bite for sip! Once the pizza was gone, we settled into a nice quiet conversation, Katherine and I. We talked about the old days in Walla Walla (she's a pioneer woman, ya know). All was fine with rose petal and cocoa, and some nice slight green notes. I liked this wine a lot. The '09 should last another couple, maybe even 5 years. Can't wait (but I will) to crack the '11 I have in the wine rack.

11/26/2012 (link) *** 1/2 points(Spring Valley Vineyard Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc Walla Walla Valley) High toned floral and abundant herbal notes meld with barrel spices and dark cherries on this moderately aromatic wine. The palate is ripe, full bodied, and high octane with abundant herbal and dark fruit flavors and firm, grippy tannins. 83% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petit Verdot, and 6% Malbec. Aged 18 months in French oak (35% new). 14.9% alcohol. Sample provided by winery.
