Community Tasting Notes 6

February 20, 2014 - Popped and poured. Inky dark color. Notes of boysenberry and cassis on both the nose and palate. Hard to describe, but there was a "blackness" to this wine. I kept thinking to myself, "deep, brooding, inpenetrable". Like looking into a well and not being able to see the bottom, but in an exciting way that leaves some mystery. Would purchase again.

October 22, 2013 - This is reaching it's drinking window now with secondary flavors developing and bacon fat starting to show up on the nose - much different from the fruit forward young wine it was two years ago when I last tasted it. Give it another 6 months as I think it will get even better.

October 14, 2012 - Love this wine. Nothing subtle about it -- the nose opened nicely with a blend of woody/earthy notes and black fruit. Great, great mouthfeel, and strong mixed berry on the palate. Yummy.

May 15, 2012 - This is drinking well now. Intense aromatics on the nose - black currant, black cherry, sous bois, oak. Very brooding palate - brash red berry and black fruits with firm chewy tannins. very masculine.
